Vermont Wood Manufacturer's Association
Membership and industry portal website
GORGES and The Vermont Wood Manufacturers Association worked together to create a new membership website. The website features detailed member profiles, a search engine, and a content managed video educational system in the members-only area. The new site included the following features:
- multi-level member and products directory
- web based membership registration and renewal
- business management tools
- newsletter and press release archive
- member-only video library

Active members maintain their own detailed profile on the site where they can showcase their products
Intuitive Community Content Management
The legacy web site had been built using Dreamweaver and was being managed using Adobe's Contribute. In order to simplify the administrator's content management workflow, we built the new web site on top of Drupal. In the new system, administrators as well as users can log in and manage their own information. This streamlined their data entry process and allowed them to extend a number of new features to their members.
Online Business Management Tools
Before this project, the group managed their members in an offline Microsoft Access database. When new members registered, they would manually add them to Access and then manually copy that relevant information to the web site.
In order to streamline this process, we migrated all legacy data into the new system and built a set of management interfaces within the web site, enabling site administrators to do all of their work in one place.
Video Library
Vermont Wood had a collection of videos from various event and productions that they wanted to share with their members. We built a video library for the web site which allows registered members to browse and view these videos within the web site.
"The new database-driven website has decreased our member content management and it will only get better from here! Members are enjoying being able to edit their own company and product data on their own time. Everyone at GORGES was great to work with. They made minor fixes quickly and always had time for us when we had bigger questions to resolve."
